What we aim for

This site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

  • Works with screen readers such as TalkBack, with headings, landmarks and labels in a sensible reading order.
  • Works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus ring.
  • Text stays readable when your phone's font size is set large, up to 200%.
  • Tap targets are at least 44 by 44 pixels.
  • Colours meet contrast guidelines in light and dark appearance. Glucose states are never shown by colour alone: the word (Low, In range, High) is always there.
  • If your phone asks for reduced motion, the site doesn't animate.
  • Everything works without JavaScript except the Stay in the loop list and the two interactive sample previews on the home page (Try a Nudge and the graph). Each preview also describes what it shows in text.
  • The Stay in the loop list opens as a full-screen panel with one question per screen. It works with a keyboard alone and with screen readers: each question is announced with its step number, Back and Close are always reachable, and focus stays inside the panel until you close it.

How we test

Every page gets automatic checks. They look for accessibility problems (with axe), text and tap-target sizes, sideways scrolling on phones from 360 pixels wide, and 200% text size. We also go through the site with a keyboard alone and in screen-reader order.

Known limits

The pictures of phones are illustrations with sample data; each has a text description. The Stay in the loop list's spam check is provided by Cloudflare Turnstile, and we can't fully control how it behaves with every assistive technology. If it blocks you, email contact@beetbuddy.app and we'll add you by hand.

Tell us about a problem

If something on this site is hard to use, email contact@beetbuddy.app with the page and what happened. We aim to reply within 5 working days.
