Beet Buddy is a companion to your CGM's own alarms, never a replacement.

Nothing is offered yet

Beet Buddy is a project in development. No product or service is offered yet. It isn't available to download, to buy or to sign up for. It's tested privately, by invitation only. A public beta is planned, with no date.

This website describes what Beet Buddy is being designed to do. The pictures of phones and graphs are sample previews with made-up data. Joining the Stay in the loop list doesn't give you access to anything; it only lets us email you if a beta opens.

Who we are

BEET BUDDY is run by Chris Campbell, an individual based in Buckley, Washington, USA. Contact contact@beetbuddy.app. By using this website, joining the Stay in the loop list, or using the app in the private test, you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy.

What Beet Buddy is, and isn't

  • Beet Buddy shows glucose and related information that a Beet chooses to share with their Buddies. It shows information only.
  • It gives no medical advice and is not for treatment or dosing decisions. Always check readings and alerts in your CGM's own app, and follow your own devices and your care team.
  • It never controls, changes or sends anything to a pump, a CGM or the Omnipod 5 app.

Your part

  • Keep your CGM's own alarms on. Buddies keep Dexcom Follow (or their CGM's own follow app) on as their main alarm.
  • Keep Beet Buddy's notifications on, allow Do Not Disturb access if you want alarms to ring through it, and don't let battery saving hold it back.
  • If you think someone is in danger, call your local emergency number. Beet Buddy doesn't call anyone or contact emergency services.
  • Only share with people you trust, and only link to a Beet who invited you.

Alerts can be late or not arrive

Beet Buddy depends on the internet, both phones, their settings, their batteries, Google's notification service and our server. It looks for new readings about every 5 to 15 minutes, so an alert can arrive minutes after a reading, or not at all. That's why it is a companion and never your only alarm.

The private test

Beet Buddy is software in development. It may change, have bugs, or stop working, and we may end the private test at any time. It is provided as it is, without promises beyond those the law requires. Nothing is charged for it. As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for losses from using it, including alerts that are late or don't arrive.

Who can use it

You must be 18 or older to use the app or join the Stay in the loop list. The private test is by Chris's invitation only.

Using it fairly

Don't try to see someone's data without their invite, break or overload the service, or reverse engineer it to get at other people's information.

Ending

You can stop at any time and delete your account. A Beet can remove a Buddy, and a Buddy can unlink, at any time.

Changes and law

If these terms change, we update the date and tell you in the app. The laws of the State of Washington apply, and disputes go to its courts.
