Delete your Beet Buddy account

Email contact@beetbuddy.app from the email address of the Google account you use with Beet Buddy, with the subject "Delete my account".

We reply to the address on the account and delete only after you confirm there. A request we cannot tie to your account is not acted on, and we never delete on an unconfirmed request. We delete the account and its data within 30 days, usually much sooner, and tell you when it is done.

In the app Coming soon:

1. Open Settings, then Profile and account.
2. Tap Delete account.
3. Type DELETE and confirm.

You must be signed in to do this. Your account is deleted from our server straight away. The rest of your data is erased in the same step or shortly after, and within 30 days at the latest. The app clears its own copy on your phone and watch. Signing out alone does not delete anything.

What is deleted

• Your account: Google sign-in identity, name and email.
• Your Beet or Buddy profile, and every link between you and a Beet or Buddy.
• Nudges and hearts, including the glucose reading attached to a Nudge you sent or received.
• Insulin on board you shared, low-event records and carb entries.
• Glucose readings uploaded to us, and the connection that uploads them.
• Pod and sensor start times and change history, and your Last 7 days sharing choice.
• Feedback reports you sent, with their screenshots.
• The notification registrations of your phones.

What is kept

Nothing that identifies you is kept on purpose. Server logs keep only counts of deleted records. Server backups are deleted within 30 days. Old meal photos and Log entries (meals, exercise and notes) from a retired feature are still stored on our server. We don't use them, and we're deleting them this week.

What happens to the people linked to you

If you are a Beet, your Buddies stop seeing your glucose, insulin on board and alerts as soon as the account is deleted, including low alerts. If you are a Buddy, you stop seeing your Beet's data and alerts straight away.

Deletion cannot be undone. Signing in again later with the same Google account creates a new, empty account.

Only on the Stay in the loop list?

A Stay in the loop sign-up is separate from an app account. Email contact@beetbuddy.app from the address you signed up with, and we'll remove it and tell you when it's done. If an email from us has a "Delete my sign-up" link, that works too. See the Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.
